Savvy Chavvy 'Highly Commended' at the New Statesman New Media Awards.
The Savvy Chavvy project, combining innovative training in social media and web 2.0 technology with the establishment of a unique social networking site specifically for young Gypsy Travellers, was 'highly commended' at the finals of the New Statesman New Media Awards. The awards aim to recognise those that both realise the potential of new media technology and have the commitment and stamina to effectively execute their ideas. Nominated in the new 'Community Activism' category, the judges commended our highly innovative approach and the sucess of the project in enabling the Gypsy Traveller community to join together, communicate and find information.
